![]() Newer drivers outperform the ASIO4ALL drivers. If you notice a lot of latency, then something is wrong. I don't think you can hope for better than 44.1khz with buffer of 64 on your thin and light laptop. :-) Thanks a lot in advance, if I manage to reduce my latency due to your advice, I will be eternally grateful to each and everyone of you! I really hope someone can help me, as I am honestly desperate to make this work, but I have not managed to do so myself yet through reading or trying out things. Oh, and if it matters, I am using a 5-6 years old USB cable between my Kawai and my computer. I should reiterate, that I am just interested in playing and practicing piano with a VST sound through my headphones and external speakers. My question is: how can I reduce my overall latency? Should I set up my computer differently? Use a different app than Kontakt Player? Should I use my Focusrite Itrack Solo interface or buy a new interface? (I do not know how precise these numbers are: When I first began it reported that I had 18ms, but that felt like much more than the 16 ms I have now). My computer can run this without glitches and without straining its CPU or RAM.īut it says that I have around 16 ms of latency: 0.0 ms for input, 0.7 ms for processing, and around 15 ms for output. I experienced less latency with it at this setting than if it were lower, e.g. I have not activated the following three things: 1) Allow Pull Mode (WaveRT), 2) Always resampe 44.1kHz 48kHz, 3) Force WDM Driver to 16 bit.Īlso, I have set "sample rate" up to 96000. (And, if relevant, I have set the other functions in the "CONFIGURE ASIO" this way: Latency compensation: in = 0 ms, out = 0 ms. And I have configured it to run with a 64 samples buffer size. I am using the software "Noire" from Native Instruments, and I am using Kontakt Player (newest version) as a standalone app for playing through. It will take me a 4 hour drive to get it, but if you think it will reduce latency, I will definetely get it). ![]() ![]() (I have the option of using a Focusrite Itrack Solo interface. Since my VPC-1 is (at least) from 2013, it does not have a usb C but a USB A (or what ever the standard USB before USB was called) so I connect it to my computer with through the USB hub/ dongle. I am using a KAWAI VPC-1 as a midi controller. I am a bit eager/ desperate to reduce my latency, so I really hope some of you are able to help me do that :-)Ĭomputer: Huawei 13 Matebook (bought in April 2019)Ģ usb c-ports (including the one used for charging)Ī usb "hub"/ "dongle" which has a port compatible with older types of USB than USB C I am interested in playing with a midi controller and a virtual piano software sound through my external speakers or headphones with less latency. I am new to VST pianos and am having trouble with output latency. I am have been searching for different forums about this question for days but have not solved it, so I thought I would ask it myself.
